Briggs engineer Alan Gibbs is proud father to nine year old Sam, who has a passion for motorbikes and first competed in electric powered bike trials when he was just 6!

Since 2017, Sam has been a member of the ‘Cotswold Youth and AMX Club’ an affiliated British Schoolboy Motocross Association club (BSMA) and has recently moved up a category to race a 65cc bike with gears.

A typical race day for Sam and Alan starts early with signing and scrutineering at 7:30am followed by a full day of practice rounds, qualifying and racing.

It was a hot and sunny race meeting for Samuel yesterday on a new and difficult track to learn, so finishing 24th and 22nd with a start gate of 29 was a good result. Samuel is building in confidence now and really enjoying his riding.

Next up for Sam is Enduro practice with the Royal Logistic Corps which they were kind enough to invite him along to. Understandable Sam and his dad are very excited and looking forward to the day. Keep an eye on our blog to find out how they get on.
