Our Accounts Assistant Rose Langley has now completed her running challenge for 2017! Rose pledged to raise £500 for Newlife at the beginning of the year and set herself six running challenges.

• April – Birmingham 10k
• May – 4 mile virtual run
• June – Sutton Coldfield 8.5 miles
• July – 25k virtual run
• August – Cannock Chase 10k
• October – Sandwell Valley 5k

When Rose started her challenge she was a new mum and Newlife’s work struck a chord with her. She commented; “any child and their family might need help from Newlife at any point”. At the time her daughter Scarlett was just 18 months old and the work Newlife carry out felt much closer to home.

Rose smashed her target of £500 and has raised an incredible £2,236.50 for Newlife. We’re so proud of what Rose has accomplished for our chosen charity, so a very big thank you and congratulations to Rose. Read Rose’s comments below:

“I’m now pleased to say my challenge is complete and all monies collected, my total raised for Newlife is a fantastic £2236.56! Albeit daunting to start with, I’m so pleased I decided to challenge myself, and for a great cause. Starting off with short runs, I now feel I can call this a hobby, one which I wish to continue with in 2018.”
“I covered just over 70km during the actual events, and with training I achieved 277km in total, over the whole challenge. I want to also recognise that my total was boosted by a charity car boot sale, so a big special thank you to Angela Smith & Jenny Gould for their help.”

“Thanks to everyone for sponsorship, car boot donations and general encouragement throughout.”
