Briggs-sponsored Rally for Heroes team takes to the trackRally For Heroes driver Simon Hutchings has taken to the track at Thruxton. Our support for Rally for Heroes reflects the ongoing partnership with the Armed Forces through Briggs Defence, who provide global equipment and engineering support to the Ministry of Defence.  Simon Hutchings and fellow entrants in the 2016 Rally for Heroes road trip set out last week to raise money at a corporate track day at the Hampshire race circuit organised by Motor Sports Events.  In return for a donation, invited guests were given the chance to hitch a charity ride around the track.  They were also able to stop by the pit lane to have a chat with the other entrants in order to further promote the good work that the charity does.  Rally for Heroes raises money for military charities through driving events across the UK and mainland Europe. This summer, all eyes will be on the Rally for Heroes road trip, which gets underway on August 5 with an official launch from HMS Victory in Portsmouth.  The Briggs-sponsored vehicle will be one of 45 cars making the epic 3,200-mile journey across Europe – travelling through eight countries in nine days – in a bid to raise £100,000 for the oldest UK national military charity, SSAFA.  The overall aim is to drive five miles for every person that lost their life in the service of their country throughout the Afghanistan campaign.  The day ended having raised over £850.  We wish Simon good luck with his further fundraising activities and every success when he embarks on the amazing Rally for Heroes road trip in his Porsche on August 5.
