This will be the second time that Jim runs in London Marathon and he updates us on how he has been getting on with his preparations.

“Following my snapped tendon almost a year ago, my dream of competing in a second London Marathon felt a long way off, but now less than 7 days away it’s all feeling very real.

“My last 6 months as a Briggs Service Manager and wannabe long distance runner has certainly been very busy, eventful and not fully gone to plan. I have lost count of the 4am runs in the dark decked in high vis and head torch whilst clocking over 350 miles in training.

“Map My Run is my new favourite app, while numerous blisters, a visit to a podiatrist to remove an old glass splinter and with two weeks remaining, and a twisted ankle hopefully have all been overcome just in time!

“Due to my difficult last few months, my finish time is unimportant to me, all I wish to do is complete the marathon, experience the famous London buzz and complete my Charity target for the British Forces Foundation. Please take a few seconds to click on my fund raising link below and support a worthy charity close to Briggs.”
