Over the past three years we have invested over £1M in the development and roll out of our apprenticeship scheme, taking on a new cohort of future engineers each year. This year we have taken on an additional 10 stars of the future. Here is the first of our upcoming apprentice interviews to find out about their experiences so far.

Reece Worrall

What were you doing before you joined Briggs?

“I’m 20 years old and tried a couple of different routes after I left school, my latest job was working as a vehicle inspector. I much prefer this though.”

What made you apply for the apprenticeship?

“I am local to the Cannock office so I already knew a lot about the company. When I saw the apprenticeship advertised on Briggs’ website I thought it looked to be an interesting career path and I could see that there are good prospects within the industry.”

What has been your first impression of Briggs?

“My first impression of Briggs has been brilliant. It’s not like any other company that I have been to, you are treated really well and looked after from the off. Everyone has made me feel really welcome and like part of a family. I like that they check up on you as well and make sure you are settling in.”

Would you recommend the apprenticeship to other school leavers?

“Yes, I wish I had done it earlier on now that I’ve seen the difference that coming to Briggs makes after having worked in other jobs where I haven’t been treated so well.”

What’s the best thing about your apprenticeship?

“The people that you meet. There are a lot of people here with similar interests to me and who are also on their way to doing something great. It’s been good meeting people who are all on the same journey as you, we’ve all got four years ahead of us together and I am looking forward to seeing how everybody develops to be the best that they can be.”
