Thank you to those who attended the Armed Forces Day Weekend over the last couple of days at the National Memorial Arboretum.

The National Memorial Arboretum is the UK’s year-round centre of Remembrance; a spiritually uplifting place which honours the fallen, recognises service and sacrifice, and fosters pride in our country. It is a living and lasting memorial.

We were pleased to be the headline sponsor for the event and had a presence on the grounds to help support the Arboretum’s fundraising activities.

Our support included forklift basketball that all of the family could have a go at as part of an activity programme put together by the event organisers, as well as a tombola and ‘name the bear’ competition that proved particularly popular. We were also loaned a tank by a friend of Briggs, which generated a lot of interest and worked as a great centerpiece to our display.

The money raised over the weekend totaled £539 which will be matched by Briggs for a donation of over £1000 and will contribute towards the year round upkeep of the Arboretum and help to keep entry free for those who wish to visit to honour and remember the service men and women who have given their lives for their country.

The tombola and ‘name the bear’ proved popular raising £539.

The tank was a popular attraction, perhaps inspiring the next generation of service men and women?

There was a variety of entertainment including music from Band of The Royal Corps of Signals and Sincerely Yours music duo.
